About Parasnath: Parasnath is a range of hills. Parasnath is located in Giridih district of Jharkhand state. The highest peak of Jharkhand state is Parasnath. Its highest peak is 1350 meters high. Parasnath is the most important pilgrimage site of Jainism in the state of Jharkhand. Parasnath is named after the 23rd Tirthankara. People believe that there were 24 Jain Tirthankara attained salvation. And the temple is named after each one of them. Research has found that some temples are more than 2000 years old. They celebrate a mountain festival on the full moon day in Baisakh (mid-April).
Most of the Santhals reside in Parasnath who call this hill god Morang Buru. People come from far and wide to visit this pilgrimage site.
